Northern Lights
I've travelled several times to Iceland and Norway chasing the northern lights. Nights of waiting, cold, and skies that sometimes never show. When they do, everything else disappears.
Behind every image there are hours of waiting, travelling and work — a look at the process of searching for and capturing the auroras from the other side of the camera.
The first aurora I ever photographed. It happened during my first trip to Iceland — a night that marked the start of a relationship that, years later, still keeps pulling me back to these skies.
It is not an expedition or a list of places. It is going back to the same spots until you understand their light.
The last aurora I have photographed so far. After years of returning to these landscapes, the search continues.
A documentary about the search for the northern lights
I'm working on a documentary that explores the search for the northern lights, the places we travel to in order to find them, and the waiting that lies behind every image.
